axe-core, in a real browser, on every site you manage.
Against WCAG 2.2 AA, and EN 301 549 with it. Automated testing covers part of the success criteria and every finding says so. There is no overlay in this product and there never will be.
The problem
One agency in four sells this. The Act applied last June.
The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025, and only one agency in four offers accessibility work at all — though the ones that do are nearly twice as likely to pass $200k in revenue (The Admin Bar, State of the WordPress Agency 2026). The reason most do not is the honest version is expensive and the cheap version is an overlay. accessiBe was fined $1M by the FTC over the cheap version, and still sells it.
How it works
How accessibility (wcag 2.2 aa) works
- 1
axe runs in the page
In the real browser the crawl already opened, on the site’s entry page and on a payment page if the crawl found one — not against saved HTML, because half of what axe checks only exists once the page has rendered.
- 2
Only the WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules
The violations carrying a wcag2a, wcag2aa, wcag21a, wcag21aa or wcag22aa tag. Each finding names the page, the rule axe reported, the element’s selector and the success criteria behind it.
- 3
And a statement you can finish
A draft statement stating what was tested, when, by what automated means, what automated testing cannot establish, and then a list, by name, of the six things only the organisation behind the site can answer.
Why it matters
What you get
No overlay, no auto-fix
Nothing is injected into a client’s site and nothing is changed. An overlay that promised compliance is what the $1M FTC penalty was for, and it is the one thing this product will not grow into.
A draft, labelled a draft
The statement’s title says draft, so it cannot be forwarded as finished. It states no conformance level, because a conformance level is the claim we may never make.
Untested is not reported as clean
A page axe did not run on produces nothing at all, rather than an empty section that reads like a result. At most five elements per rule per page are listed, and the finding carries the true count.
On every page of it
Observations, not certification
A SitesProof report lists what an automated crawler saw on one web page, or a small set of pages, on one date. It is a set of observations. It is not a certificate, an audit, an assessment against any standard, or legal advice.
It is there for you, not for us. An agency that hands a client a document promising compliance has promised something it cannot deliver, and the FTC fined accessiBe $1M over exactly that claim. A document of dated observations is both honest and more useful: the client can act on it.

Questions, answered
Does this make a site accessible?
No. It reports what one automated engine found on one date, on the pages it ran against. Automated testing reaches a minority of the WCAG success criteria; the rest needs a person. Anyone who tells you a crawl settles the question is selling you the thing the FTC fined.
Why no overlay, when every competitor has one?
Because an overlay changes the page in the visitor’s browser instead of fixing the page, people who rely on assistive technology have said for years that it makes things worse, and the FTC fined accessiBe $1M for claiming it delivered compliance. There is no version of this we would ship.
Can I give the generated statement to my client as-is?
No, and it is written so you cannot by accident. The title says draft and the last section lists what is missing: how far the site meets the standard, which content does not and why, how a visitor reports a barrier, which enforcement procedure applies, and the date a person reviewed it. Those are your client’s answers, not ours.
